Calgary and YYC are the main gateways for many Alberta mountain trips. Banff, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, the Icefields Parkway and Jasper are related destinations, but they should not be treated as one quick loop. Access rules, reservations, road time and season all shape the trip.
